Today, we’re diving into the AI art markets—one of the hottest trends in digital art and crypto right now. Collection mints are on the rise, with solid releases from ArtBlocks, Fellowship, gmStudio, and others over the past month.

For today’s analysis, I focused on AI collections that have drawn considerable attention in terms of volume and value. These collections were created using—or show evidence of—AI tools such as LLMs, artificial image generation techniques with proprietary or open data, neural networks, or other custom methods. I’ve centered this analysis on established platforms and included a few independent releases on the Ethereum blockchain. Note: This analysis does not include pure generative-coded art.

In this deep dive, we’ll cover:

  • AI Art Market-Wide Insights

  • Spreadsheet containing data from 70+ collections and 60+ artists

  • Top Movers by Volume and Floor: All-time and last 3 months

  • Market Cap Leaders by Collection and Artist

  • Low Amount of Listings or Supply Available

  • How to further expand on this research to find opportunities

Data from over 70 AI Art collections with considerable secondary volume and over 100 pieces per collection. Taken the week of December 16th-22nd 2024.

Before we dive in, a few notes and reminders:

This analysis is based on publicly available data from OpenSea and does not include all AI art collections or artists. The goal is to capture market sentiment and highlight trends, not to promote specific artists or platforms. Data accuracy depends on the sources, so discrepancies may exist.

There are literally thousands of artists, and it’s impossible to include them all. This analysis focuses on collections that have accrued significant volume, visibility, and size (over 100 pieces) to the best of my knowledge and ability.

If this is your first time reading one of my market analyses, I recommend you read this first.

And of course, this is not financial advice.
